This is a bundled course offering consisting of two days of hands-on training followed by two hours of self-paced eLearning. This course equips experienced VMware® administrators with the knowledge to install, configure, and operate VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM), and test disaster recovery plans with SRM.

This course is not required for any VMware certification, but content of the course is a subset of the knowledge tested in the VCDX examinations.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, you should be able to do the following:

• Create a disaster recovery workflow for your virtual machines using SRM
• Plan virtual infrastructure component configuration to support efficient SRM operation
• Install SRM components
• Configure SRM storage replication adapters
• Configure SRM protected and recovery sites
• Configure SRM array managers
• Define SRM inventory mappings
• Create SRM recovery plans
• Test SRM recovery plans
• Execute SRM recovery plans (failover)
• Plan failback strategies

Target Audience

VMware administrators and systems integrators that are responsible for their organization's deployment of SRM.

Prerequisites

• Completion of VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure or VMware vSphere™: Install, Configure, Manage or equivalent experience
• Basic knowledge of disaster recovery concepts
• Basic knowledge of storage array technology
